Since opening in April 2026 in Building 2000, The Galley by Shuckers has quickly become a favorite destination for breakfast, lunch, coffee, and conversation at the West Virginia Regional Technology Park. Behind the café is a family dedicated to hospitality, quality food, and community: owners Guy and Robin Turturice and their daughters, Rhianna and Rhylee.
For many in the Kanawha Valley, the Shuckers name is already familiar. The family-owned restaurant has been a longtime fixture in St. Albans, known for its seafood, welcoming atmosphere, and commitment to customer service. After purchasing Shuckers five years ago, the Turturice family focused on preserving its strong reputation while expanding the brand and deepening its roots in the community.
That commitment to quality and service ultimately led them to the West Virginia Regional Technology Park.
A Natural Fit for the Tech Park
When asked what inspired the expansion into The Galley, the family points to a combination of opportunity and values.
"As business owners, we always look for opportunities to expand our business and our reach," they said. "We saw an opportunity to provide convenience while staying true to the family-owned values and hospitality that have always been at the heart of our business."
Located in Building 2000, The Galley provides Tech Park employees, tenants, visitors, and conference guests with convenient access to freshly prepared breakfast and lunch options throughout the workday.
Family-Owned and Community-Focused
For the Turturice family, operating a family-owned business means more than serving food.
"Being a family-owned restaurant in West Virginia means responsibility to our employees, customers, and community," they shared. "We hope to provide consistent products at fair prices, with good service and a friendly atmosphere that keep people coming through our doors. We pride ourselves on being hands-on and present in the daily operations of the business."
Customer Favorites
While the menu offers something for everyone, a few items have quickly emerged as customer favorites.
The Smash Burger and Flounder Sandwich have become top sellers, while rotating specials such as the Quesadilla and Chicken Salad Sandwich continue to attract a loyal following.
Whether grabbing a quick breakfast sandwich before work, meeting a colleague for lunch, or stopping in for coffee between meetings, visitors will find a variety of freshly prepared options designed to fit a busy workday.
Looking Ahead
The Turturice family has ambitious plans for The Galley's future at the Tech Park.
"We're looking forward to introducing new grab-and-go options, specialty drinks, and continuing to deliver great food and hospitality," they said. "We want to become the Tech Park's favorite destination for busy professionals."
As The Galley continues to grow, its focus remains the same: providing convenient, high-quality food paired with the warm hospitality that has made Shuckers a beloved local brand.
The West Virginia Regional Technology Park is proud to welcome The Galley as part of our campus community and looks forward to supporting its continued success.
